Thom joined the Green Party because he recognised that environmental protection and social justice are inseparable. For him, defending public services, supporting workers and tackling inequality are all part of the same wider commitment to building healthier, more resilient communities.

Speaking Up for Communities

Growing up, Thom saw families working hard while struggling to make ends meet, often feeling ignored by those in power. Those experiences shaped his belief that politics should always work for ordinary people rather than narrow financial interests. Wealth inequality remains one of the issues he feels most strongly about.

Local Leadership

As a Borough Councillor, Thom continues to champion communities that deserve investment, opportunity and a stronger voice in local decision-making. He believes that fairer societies are also greener societies, where everyone has the chance to enjoy secure public services, decent jobs and thriving neighbourhoods.

Thom believes meaningful political change happens when people become involved rather than standing on the sidelines. His commitment to fairness, solidarity and community continues to guide his work both inside and outside the council chamber.
