Alex has been part of the Green movement since 1989, after meeting local Green Party members at a General Election count and discovering a community that immediately felt like home. Influenced by pioneering environmental writers such as Rachel Carson and Jonathan Porritt, he has spent decades campaigning for practical environmental solutions and inspiring others to do the same.

Practical Solutions for a Better Future

Climate change has long been Alex’s driving concern, but he believes the solutions are already within our reach. From transforming his own home through a pioneering Passive House retrofit to campaigning for the return of international rail services to Kent, he has always believed that living sustainably begins with practical action.

Faith, Nature and Community

A retired Church of England vicar, Alex now helps manage a 43-acre woodland and remains deeply involved in environmental campaigning. Whether cycling along the Great Stour, caring for ancient woodland or supporting refugees through local community groups, he values the connections between people, place and the natural world.

Alex wants to see Britain free itself from fossil fuels while making it easier for people to travel sustainably, improve their homes and enjoy greener communities. His message to anyone considering joining the Green Party is simple: every new member strengthens the Green voice.
