Mandy is our Parliamentary Spokesperson and Co-Chair.  She has represented Ashford Green Party as the Parliamentary Candidate in four General Elections including the most recent on in July 2024, when where we doubled our vote share. 

Mandy has been key in raising the profile of the Green Party in Ashford, speaking at local schools and on the radio, and visiting many of Ashford’s local initiatives.

Mandy joined the Green Party in 2011 after meeting local Green campaigners and discovering a style of politics that felt compassionate, practical and rooted in community. Having campaigned for causes ranging from animal welfare to refugee support, anti-fracking campaigns and protecting local libraries, she believes meaningful change begins when ordinary people decide to get involved.

As well as representing the Green Party in four General Elections, Mandy plays a key role in helping elect Green councillors locally. While she’s proud of those achievements, she’s equally proud of running the London Marathon to raise money for animal rescue—and even learning to play the drums, although her neighbours may have mixed opinions!

Mandy loves Ashford’s independent businesses, countryside and creative spirit. Whether it’s enjoying the atmosphere at Coachworks, catching a film at Ashford Cinema or celebrating the work of Made in Ashford, she sees local people and community organisations as the town’s greatest strength.
