Building a Better Future

Laura joined the Green Party because she wanted to be part of meaningful political change. While she had always followed politics, becoming a mother strengthened her determination to help create a fairer, safer and more sustainable future for the next generation.

Giving Families a Stronger Voice

Alongside wider issues such as climate change and equality, Laura is passionate about improving maternity care and support for parents experiencing difficult pregnancies. Drawing on her own experiences, she hopes future families will receive better understanding, stronger healthcare and greater support throughout pregnancy and beyond.

Community Matters

Laura loves living in an area where families can thrive, with parks, transport links and local amenities all close at hand. Rylands Road Park holds many happy memories, while the children’s services at New Hayesbank Surgery have been invaluable to her own family. These everyday places, she believes, are what make communities strong.

Hope Through Action

Laura wants to see a society where working families are properly supported and politics focuses on fairness rather than division. Although she describes herself as having been a “silent member” for some time, taking the first step into Green Party activities transformed her experience. Her message to others is reassuring: everyone is friendly, everyone is welcome, and everyone can make a difference.
