Katrina is our Park Farm South Councillor, Co-Leader of the Councillor Green Group at ABC, and Ashford Green Party’s Women’s Officer.

She is a mother of one and works full time as an intervention teaching assistant at a local primary school. Katrina, her husband and child were all born in Ashford. She has many years of experience working within schools as a student mentor/youth worker and has a foundation 1 in social work. In the past, Katrina has taken on lead roles in running school clubs and youth clubs in the Deal and Folkestone areas.

Speaking Up for Families

Katrina got involved with the Green Party after seeing dedicated local representatives standing up for residents. Inspired, she decided to move from community volunteering into local politics, bringing with her years of experience supporting young people, families and neighbourhood organisations.

Championing SEND

As both a teaching assistant and the parent of a child with special educational needs, Katrina is passionate about improving support for SEND children and their families. She believes every child deserves the opportunity to participate fully in education and community life, and works tirelessly to promote understanding, inclusion and equality.

Celebrating Ashford

Katrina loves Ashford’s strong sense of community and its green spaces. She enjoys supporting organisations such as Made in Ashford, Include Us 2 and the Retreat Animal Sanctuary, all of which demonstrate the remarkable difference local people can make when they work together.

Hope for the Future

Katrina wants to build a kinder, fairer society where everyone feels valued, particularly children and families who too often struggle to access the support they need.

Family is at the centre of Katrina’s life, and she is proud of her work, her family, and proud to serve as a councillor. Whether tackling anti-social behaviour, helping residents solve local problems or supporting positive changes at council level, she approaches every challenge with determination, honesty and compassion.
