Putting People First

Simon joined the Green Party because he believes politics should always put people, communities and the environment ahead of vested interests. Drawn by the party’s commitment to fairness, sustainability and democratic values, he wanted to support a positive long-term vision for society rather than simply reacting to today’s challenges.

Food, Health and Sustainability

Having trained as a chef, Simon has a lifelong interest in food and where it comes from. Over the years this has developed into a wider passion for sustainable farming, healthy diets and creating a food system that benefits both people and the planet. He believes the choices we make about food influence public health, local communities and the environment in equal measure.

Strengthening Communities

Simon enjoys the balance that Willesborough offers between green spaces, local amenities and a strong community spirit. He would love to see a welcoming community hub at the heart of the local park—a place where neighbours can meet, children can play and friendships can grow. He also greatly admires organisations such as Lily’s Social Kitchen, which demonstrate how local enterprise can transform lives.

Looking to the Future

Simon hopes to see a more open and accountable political culture where communities have a genuine voice in the decisions that affect them. He believes the Green Party offers an opportunity for ordinary people to shape a fairer, greener and more democratic future. His invitation is simple: come along, get involved in whatever way suits you, and you may be surprised just how rewarding it can be.
